One person maintains this site, so email is the only channel — but it's read, and bug reports with enough detail to reproduce usually get fixed.

Expect a reply within a few days. This is a side project, not a staffed support desk, so it's slower than a company would be — but messages don't go into a void.

Reporting a wrong total

This is the most useful kind of report, and also the one most often sent without enough information to act on. Please include:

  • The playlist URL. Without it there's nothing to check — totals depend entirely on the specific playlist's contents.
  • The total the site gave you and the total you expected, with where your expected figure came from.
  • Your settings — daily minutes, the speeds you entered, and whether splitting was on.

Before writing in, two explanations cover most reported discrepancies. Deleted and private videos are excluded from the total, so a 200-video playlist may analyse as fewer; and finished live streams report their entire broadcast duration, including any dead air before the host began, which can add hours. The homepage section on what gets counted has the full table of what is and isn't counted.

Other things worth writing about

  • Bugs and errors. Include what you did, what happened, and your browser. If an error message appeared, quote it exactly.
  • Feature requests. Say what you were trying to accomplish rather than just the feature you have in mind — the underlying goal is often achievable sooner.
  • Corrections to the written pages. If something on the guides is wrong or misleading, please say so. Corrections get made and the review date updated.
  • Privacy questions. Anything about data handling, cookies or consent. See the privacy policy first, which may already answer it.
  • Advertising and legal enquiries. Same address.

What email can't resolve

  • Private playlists. No third-party tool can read them — the restriction is YouTube's and applies to everyone but the owner. Making the playlist unlisted instead of private lets the tool read it while keeping it out of search.
  • Requests to download videos. The site reads duration metadata only, and won't be adding downloading.
  • Problems with YouTube itself. Playback issues, strikes, and account problems need YouTube's own support; there's no connection between this site and Google.
